Dinner @ Akashi
May 21, 2010 in Japanese by thywhaleliciousfay
My friend and I were supposed to have French cuisine, but we ended up at Akashi instead as his meeting ended really late.
We always end up here when we meet much later than our scheduled meeting time. Especially so if we meet for dinner after 9pm as Akashi is the only decent Japanese place we can think of and rely on. Ha.
Besides the few dishes which we must have like the grilled kinki fish and tuna belly sashimi, my friend and I tried new dishes like snail and sotong sashimi. We were told to dip the thinly sliced sotong sashimi into a small bowl of sauce, mixed with sea urchin and (raw) egg yolk, and eat it as how we would eat our cold noodles. Nice!
And as always, we enjoyed our dinner. I always like Akashi for its vibrant environment and the interaction with the chefs when we take counter seats. Although it helps that my friend is a regular too!
