Dinner @ Restaurante Platão (Macau)

March 6, 2015 in Chinese, Portuguese by thywhaleliciousfay

And what’s travelling to Macau without eating Portuguese food. Right? So after my friends and I finished our sightseeing of Ruins of St. Paul’s, we made our way to Restaurante Platão. While it’s my first, it was not for my friends. And I was surprised at how conveniently accessible the restaurant was. From Senado Square, it was a mere 5 minutes walk! Although one would need to know which alley to walk to. And it’s the small alley beside McDonald’s.

The restaurant was bustling with people when we arrived. We were led to the second storey, which was more of a 1.5 storey as the ceiling was pretty low when we stood at the upper stoorey.

And from the menu (pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9), we ordered:-

1) Bread, Complimentary (above) – I made a fool of myself by thinking these were potatoes. Haha. These bread really looked too similar to baked potatoes. Keke.

2) 馬介休梳乎厘, MOP74 (above) – Bacalhau souffle. Bacalhau is Portuguese word for dried codfish.

3) 白烚菜, MOP72 (above) – Poached vegetable of cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli.

4) 焗鴨飯, MOP176 (above) – Baked duck rice.

5) 芫荽花蜆, MOP128 (above) – Clams with parsley.

6) 非洲雞, MOP158 (half) (above) – Spicy chicken.

7) 海鮮飯, MOP216 (above) – Seafood rice Portuguese style.

8) 芒果摩士, MOP68 (above) – Mango mousse.

9) 木糠布甸, MOP68 (above) – Biscuit mousse. Their rendition was similar to that of an ice cream cake.

10) 葡式鮮橙卷, MOP52 (above) – Portuguese orange roll.

Overall, dinner was not too bad. I would recommend one to pop over for lunch or dinner, especially when one is in the area for shopping or sight-seeing!
