Brunch @ Club Street Social
August 12, 2012 in European (cafe) by thywhaleliciousfay
Having learnt that Club Street Social serves breakfast whole day, my girlfriend and I made our way down at 4pm.
It could have been a blessing in disguise that we came at non-peak timing such that we managed to find a parking lot easily. I can imagine it will be a nightmare to find a lot during peak hours.
And from the not-very-extensive menu, my girlfriend and I ordered:-
1) Scrambled eggs, fontina, chives, $12 (+ $4, smokey bacon) (above) – The scrambled eggs which are on the wet side, is nice, though honestly, there’s nothing special to shout about this dish too. But I can imagine the dish to look pretty bare had we not ordered additional bacon.
2) Panini (pan-seared lobster, avocado, yuzu mayo), $28 (above) – We were at a loss when it came to choosing the ‘flavour’ of our sandwich, but we decided to go with the most expensive one (lobster). And interestingly, the 2 groups which came later and sat on our right and left ordered this too. The bread (panini) is toasted such that it’s very crispy. Can be a little messy for dates if you are using your fork and knife to cut the sandwich into smaller pieces. =p And while I cant say the serving of the lobster is generous, but for mouthful where there’s chunks of the fresh and juicy lobster meat, it’s yummy!
3) Nutella bread pudding, ice cream, $12 (above) – This was the highlight of our meal. I absolutely loved this. Instead of the classic vanilla bread pudding, chocolate and nuts are layered into the chocolate bread pudding. The bread pudding was nice, moist and absolutely yummy! A must try.
